ST BREWARD COMMUNITY SHOP LIMITED

Notice of Annual Members’ Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the third Annual Members’ Meeting of St Breward Community Shop Limited will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday 9th September 2026.  This meeting will be held in-person at St Breward Village Hall, Churchtown, St Breward, Bodmin.  PL30 4PP

The Meeting will consider, among other things, the following business:

  • receiving from the Management Committee the Annual Accounts for the financial year 2025/26; a report on the Society’s performance in the year 2025/26, and plans for the current year and the next year;
  • receiving from the Management Committee a report on the state of the membership and the Membership Strategy;
  • appointing any financial Auditors, and external Auditors of any other aspect of the performance of the Society;
  • declaring the results of elections of those who are to serve on the Management Committee

The following Resolutions will be put to the Meeting:

  • Resolution A: to disapply section 83 of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (duty to appoint auditors) in respect of the current year of account 2026/27.
  • Resolution B: If Resolution A is passed, to appoint Xeinadin Audit Limited as independent accountants for the current year of account 2026/27.
  • Resolution C: If Resolution A is not passed, to appoint Xeinadin Audit Limited as auditors for the current year of account 2026/27.

Any member wishing to stand for election to the Management Committee should submit a Nomination form to the Secretary by 31st August 2026.  Nomination forms will be emailed or posted to members and will also be available on the Society’s website: stbreward.net/community-shop/meetings .  Three of the eight existing members of the Management Committee will automatically resign at the conclusion of this Meeting (but are eligible for re-election).  Our Rules limit the number of members of the Management Committee to twelve.
