Sunday afternoon 28th April – Tree planting in Memory of Irene AlexanderOn Sunday afternoon, April 28th, there will be a special event at St Breward Village Hall commemorating Irene. Starting time is 2.30pm.
Everyone who knew Irene, or knew of her, is very welcome to attend. Irene was a member of various village organisations and was well known within them for her wonderful welcoming smile and charm. She was often to be found at village events in charge of the refreshments table. Fittingly, on this occasion, of course we will have tea/coffee/cake available.
Tony, Irene’s beloved husband, has chosen a small tree in her memory which has been planted in the village hall grounds by kind permission of the Village Hall Committee. Tony’s choice is a crab apple, Pink Glow, and this has been underplanted with snowdrops, one of Irene’s favourite spring flowers.
Our vicar, The Reverend Robin Thwaites, will be attending and will bless this special little tree. Irene was a great supporter of St Breward Church and regularly attended services.
There will be a display of photographs in the village hall which include Irene and which have been taken at various local events.
Please come along, enjoy this occasion, and share memories of Irene. Jackie Greengrass 01208 851592
