News from the Parish Church

Good Friday March 29th there is to be a special service at 2pm but at Blisland Church.

Easter Sunday March 31st there will be a Holy Communion service in St. Breward Church at the usual time of 11.10am.
Sundays 7th, 14t,h 21st and 28th April, Holy Communion Service commencing at 11.10am

Tabletop/Craft Sale Village Hall Easter Monday 1st April
Join us at the Village Hall on Easter Monday 10am – 1pm.
Crafts, Wool, Bric a Brac,  Cake Stall. Tombola and more.
Breakfast baps will be served. Hire a table for £5.

Nursery Open Day
We would love to welcome parents to our Nursery Open Day on Monday 22nd April from 2-4pm.
You will have the opportunity to explore the setting with a personal nursery tour, where you will be able to find out more about our curriculum and how we are committed to supporting your child’s development and learning.
Funded places for 2, 3 & 4 years olds are also available. So please do pop along for a chat.
Job Vacancy
St Breward Primary School are looking to appoint a temporary class teacher for our mixed age Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Class to cover maternity leave, starting 1st September 2024, working part time 4 days a week Monday – Thursday.  There is some flexibility with hours and days, please contact the school for more information.

Community Cafe
The Community Cafe in the Memorial Hall at Limehead is now open every first and third Monday afternoon of each month (including Bank Holidays), 1-4.30pm. Varied menu, including soups, savoury and sweet items – and always cake!.  Eat in or ‘take away’ Do drop in, always plenty of tea, cake and chat!!

Bodmin Lions Ten Tors Fundraising Event

This event takes  place on Sunday 19th May, the Carnival Team will be one of the many organisations walking to raise funds. Coach Trip to the Royal Cornwall Show Saturday 8th June
Age UK Cornwall, with support from the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, will be providing transport to and from the Showground from our Village, entry to the Showground and a pasty lunch at the discounted cost of £14.75 per person. (Normal price £23.50). Individuals requiring support may be accompanied by a family member/carer, who will also be required to pay £14.75.

Working with Age UK Cornwall, St Breward Parish Council are keen to help promote and organise a list of people locally who would like to take up this offer. Only two requirements – you must be 50 or over and able to walk for approximately 20 minutes from where the coaches will park to the Showground entrance.

Getting to Grips with using Mobile Phones                Since the Autumn of 2013, the Trustees of the Memorial Hall at Limehead, have been organising various IT training sessions

Following a grant through Plymouth University, the Trustees are pleased to announce that in 2024 they are able to offer sessions in Getting to Grips with Using Mobile Phones. The aim of these sessions is to give guidance and help people use their mobile phones with more confidence. The sessions will be informal and there will be plenty of tea and biscuits!

Saturday 18th May 4.30-7pm – Music in the Courtyard  – A fundraising event for our Community Shop
The concert will take place In the Courtyard at Corbels, DeLank PL40 4ND (kind permission of Alan and Jilly Tibbenham). The  Seriously AwEful Symphonia (SAS) and Stubby’s Jazz Band  will be providing the entertainment and have kindly waived their fees for the evening.  There will of course be a raffle!
Tickets £12.50 to include a Cream Tea. Parking at Bolts Quarry Penvorder Lane PL30 4LY (kind permission of George and Jackie Greengrass), shuttle bus to De Lank.  Limited disabled parking at De Lank
