Damaged Speed Sign at Hill
On behalf of the community, St Breward Parish Council thank the kind parishioner who speedily repaired the vandalised Mobile Vehicle Activted Sign (MVAS) currently positioned at Hill. Our two MVAS  are positioned between Churchtown and Limehead to remind drivers of vehicles that the maximum speed through this part of our Village is 20mph.

Tenders are invited for Footpath Paring & Associated Work 2024/2025 in the Parish of St Breward

News from the Parish Church                                            Our newly appointed vicar Robin Thwaites is on leave at the moment until his licensing at St. Mabyn church on 19th March.  His first official service will be a communal service for the whole Benefice on Palm Sunday, 24th March at St. Tudy. There will be a Communion Service as usual at 1.10am every Sunday with the help of visiting clergy.

Community Cafe                                                                  The Community Café in the Memorial Hall at Limehead, is open every Monday afternoon (including Bank Holidays) 1pm to 4pm. History Group Wednesday Evening 27th March

Everyone welcome at the History Group meeting in the Village Hall on Wednesday evening 27th March. Brian Oldham will be speaking about The Remarkable Daniel Gumb. Doors open 6.30pm, meeting commences 7pm Members £2 Visitors £3, Refreshments and Raffle.

Garden Club Meeting Thursday Evening 28th March
Our next meeting is on Thursday 28th March at St Breward Village Hall. Please note change of day due to Easter. Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.                           All welcome, £2.00 entry, refreshments and raffle

The topic will be Coleton Fishacre, a fabulous garden.  This is an illustrated presentation, given by our own George Loveridge. A tropical garden by the sea in Kingswear, Devon. Home to many tender plants and different from a typical Cornish garden.

Coach Trip to the Royal Cornwall Show Saturday 8th June
Age UK Cornwall, with support from the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, will be providing transport to and from the Showground from our Village, entry to the Showground and a pasty lunch at the discounted cost of £14.75 per person. (Normal price £23.50). Individuals requiring support may be accompanied by a family member/carer, who will also be required to pay £14.75.

Working with Age UK Cornwall, St Breward Parish Council are keen to help promote and organise a list of people locally who would like to take up this offer. Only two requirements – you must be 50 or over and able to walk for approximately 20 minutes from where the coaches will park to the Showground entrance.

Getting to Grips with using Mobile Phones                    Since the Autumn of 2013, the Trustees of the Memorial Hall at Limehead, have been organising various IT training sessions

Following a grant through Plymouth University, the Trustees are pleased to announce that in 2024 they are able to offer sessions in Getting to Grips with Using Mobile Phones. The aim of these sessions is to give guidance and help people use their mobile phones with more confidence. The sessions will be informal and there will be plenty of tea and biscuits!

Thank you to everyone who supported our Coffee, Cake & Craft Morning on 9th March iWe raised about £280  and most importantly, everyone had a lovely time!
