Everyone welcome to join our next walk on Sunday 12th May, meet at 2pm at Wenford Bridge Pottery PL30 3PN.  Park in the private carpark by the bridge, (not in the public Camel Trail carpark).Our walk on the footpath will take us ti Bolts Quarry at Penvorder where we can stroll through the gardens and purchase tea and cakes, returning by the same route,  A mile each way, so a short walk this time.

The June walk will be on Sunday 9th June – led by Matt and Lindsay, details to be confirmed  nearer the time.

Everyone welcome to Michaelstow Church, a hidden gem, a Grade 1 listed 12th century church, with a Holy Well (possibly of Anglo Saxon origin) and with medieval bench ends inside. Come and explore the church (full wheelchair access), enjoy all day refreshments, have a try at ringing the bells (not the usual ones!) and for the children there is a special Children’s Discovery Trail – and meet our new Rector, the Reverend Robin Thwaites

News From the Garden Club                                                       Our last meeting until September is on Friday 26th April at St Breward Village Hall. Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. Refreshments and a raffle.
Topic: A Bucket Full of Flowers. Speaker: George Kestell, professional horticulturalist.  Always entertaining, this should be a fun and informative evening. We will also be having a plant and seed swap. Please bring along any contributions.   All welcome, £2.00 entry.
Then on Monday 29th April there will be a members trip to the Japanese Gardens in St Mawgan, leaving at 9.00am.

Sunday afternoon 28th April – Tree planting in Memory of Irene AlexanderOn Sunday afternoon, April 28th, there will be a special event at St Breward Village Hall commemorating Irene. Starting time is 2.30pm.
Everyone who knew Irene, or knew of her, is very welcome to attend. Irene was a member of various village organisations and was well known within them for her wonderful welcoming smile and charm. She was often to be found at village events in charge of the refreshments table. Fittingly, on this occasion, of course we will have tea/coffee/cake available.
Tony, Irene’s beloved husband, has chosen a small tree in her memory which has been planted in the village hall grounds by kind permission of the Village Hall Committee. Tony’s choice is a crab apple, Pink Glow, and this has been underplanted with snowdrops, one of Irene’s favourite spring flowers.
Our vicar, The Reverend Robin Thwaites, will be attending and will bless this special little tree. Irene was a great supporter of St Breward Church and regularly attended services.
There will be a display of photographs in the village hall which include Irene and which have been taken at various local events.

News from the Luncheon Club                                       The kitchen equipment at the Football Club is being upgraded and therefore this month’s Luncheon Club on Tuesday 16th April will still be held at the Football Club, where we will be offering  a Soup and Sweet Lunch

The Family History Research Group usually meets in the Memorial Hall in Limehead on the second and fourth Friday afternoon of each month commencing at 2pm. Next dates are 12th and 26th April

Laptops are available (if you are unable to bring one along), we have the Internet available for online research and can offer access to Ancestry Worldwide
