Never too early to think about Christmas and the Christmas Lights Group are already busy with the plans for this Christmas
For the last few years the Silver Band have kindly looked after the organising of the Christmas Lights but with increasing commitments they have handed over to a new team
The Switching on of the Christmas Lights will be on Sunday 1 December about 6.30pm, but first we need to raise some money; every year lights need replacing and money is needed to keep them burning bright, also the Switching on of the Lights needs funding, mince pies, hot chocolate mulled wine and so on
The Christmas Lights Group are holding a Quiz at The Old Inn on Friday evening 11 October and a Coffee Morning in the Band Room on Saturday 9 November

Father Christmas is taking time out from his busy schedule to join us!! Look out for him outside St Breward Stores & Post Office from 6pm, then in the Band Room after the switching on of the lights

What a wonderful turnout on Monday evening to switch on the village Christmas lights! This year saw Father Christmas arriving in style thanks to Cassie Moseley and her horse, Tommy. Santa then greeted the waiting children by the fireside in his grotto, while their parents enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies and listened to carols beautifully played by St Breward Silver Band.
Well done to Andrea for organising such a successful evening and many thanks to John, Nick and Rob for putting up the lights, the Nankivell family for donating the tree, Claire, Tracey, Melynda, Lisa T and Lisa BB, Santa, the Band, our Carnival Queen and attendants, Cassie and of course Tommy. Thanks also to the Band Room for letting us host the evening inside, the Chapel, the school children for making the wonderful tree decorations and to Camelford for donating the strings for the overhead lights, Western Power for allowing us to use the hoist to put up the lights and Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and ASDA for their kind donations of mulled wine and mince pies.
Everyone in the team works voluntarily and all the money for the lights and the switch-on evening comes from fundraising and donations so, finally, thank you to all those who generously donated time and/or money this year and to everyone who came along to support us in our efforts to light up St. Breward this Christmas.
