Thomas and his Friends on the Carnival Committee were pleased to support the wonderful St Breward Church Flower Festival – they are now off to the Carnival Safari Supper on Saturday 21 September.

This year the Mian Course will be a ‘Roast’ – Roast Beef with all the trimmings, Chicken wrapped in Bancon or Vegggie Curry and Rice.

Sittings at 6,6.30 and 7pm Tickets Adults £12, Juniors (5-11) £6,  Family £32 (2 Adults and 2 Juniors)

We will be starting with Drinks & Nibbles – and Raffle! at School before moving on to The Chapel for Starters.  Up the hill to the Football Club for Main Course which this year will be a ‘Roast’ (Roast Beef, Chicken wrapped in Bacon or a Gluten Free Vegetarian Curry).  Finally on to the Village Hall for Delecious Dessserts, Cheese & Biscuits and Coffee

As daylight fades on Saturday evening 29 June, Tom Howard conducts the St Breward Silver Band Band in the final session of the evening as a firework display lit the sky over Wenfordbridge

Carnival Week is fast approaching!!

The Bunting is up!!

Carnival Week kicks off on Saturday afternoon 29 June with the Silver Band’s Music by the River at Wenford

Saturday 29th June, Scarecrows must be erected by noon today – this year’s theme is Pirates!!

Saturday 29th June – Friday 5th July, (afternoons) Photographic Exhibition in the Memorial Hall

Saturday 29th June – Saturday 6 July Pebble Hunt for children aged 13 and Under

Sunday morning 30th June, Church Service followed by a Buffet Lunch. Take the Scarecrow Trail, map from No1 Row (oppthe Chapel)

Monday afternoon 1st July, Afternoon Tea in the Memorial Hall

Tuesday eveniing 2nd July, Annual Carnival Week Quiz at the Football Club

Wednesday lunchtime 3rd July, Soup & Sweet Lunch in the Chapel

Wednesday evening 3rd July, Johnny Cowling in the Marquee at the Football Club

Thursday afternoon 4th July, View the Minature Garden (made by St Breward School pupils) which will be on display in the Marquee – Stay for Tea & Cake

Thursday evening 4th July, Bingo at the Football Club

Friuday evening 5th July, Annual Football Club Dinner & Presentationn Evening in the Marquee

Saturday 6th July is Carnival Day

Registration at Rylands 5-5.30pm, Judging 5.30-6pm. Procession moves off at 6pm to the Football Club whre there will be refreshments, entertainment and Bouncy Castles. Presesentation of Prizes will take place in the Carnival Marquee

Carnival 2019!!!

Introducing the first St Breward Carnival Mayor and Mayoress                                                      – Rhys Keen-French and Sophie Sutton

Breaking with a tradition going back in St Breward to at leat 1913, this year we have ‘retired’ Carnival Royalty and moved forward with a Carnival Mayor and Mayoress. Rhys and Sophie, traveling on the Carnival Float wil lead the Procession on Saturday 6 July.

 

Full details of all the events and activities during Carnival Week, together with photos from Carnival 2018 can be found in the Carnival Programme, on sale at St Brward Stores & Post Office.  The first programme was bought by ‘Uncle Bob’ Luxford,who is hoping that he has bought the ‘Lucky Number’ programme

The Scarecrow theme is Pirates.  All Scarecrows must be erected by noon Saturday 29 June.  Entry forms from Carnival Secretary Sharon No 1 Row (opposite the Chapel).  Entry fee £1 and all Scarecrows must contain some straw!!
