News from the Community Shop

OUR SHARE OFFER IS NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN!  and we’re rightly excited! After months of hard work and perseverance, we’re able to open our Share Offer to raise those vital remaining funds.

Head over to www.stbreward.net/community-shop/buy-shares for full details of the Share Offer and Business Plan (inc. costs) and supporting documents, and apply to buy shares. A copy of the Share Offer should also be in your letterbox soon!  

Please ask any questions. And don’t forget you can also ask questions and give feedback at our Share Offer Launch Event; Sat 25 May, 12pm-5pm at the Band Room, Chyryn Drive   Don’t delay – buy your shares today!

Sunday 23rd June –  Eucharist Service at 11.10am                                               Sunday 30th June Village Service at 11.10am. This is a short service followed by a Buffet Lunch and all monies donated are given to Carnival Funds.All are welcome to join us to start Carnival week.]

News from the Garden Club
There are no garden visits in May, but there is a pop-up visit to Candra on Wednesday 29th May. Thanks to Ivor & Jan Chivers.
Two garden visits in June:
Monday 3rd June to Melyn Gy on the banks of the Tamar at Halton Quay, PL12 6SL. Plus the wildflower meadow at Hillbrow Barn next door.
Monday 17th June to the rose garden at Dye Cottage, St Neot, PL14 6NG.
The community bus will be available for both of these trips and fees will apply.

We also have our BBQ lunch on Sunday 23rd June at Trees, Churchtown, by kind invitation of Michael & Sue Matthews.

Everyone welcome at the History Group meeting in the Village Hall on Wednesday evening 29th May. Terry Faull will be speaking about The Droll Tellers.

Moorland Community Cinema Saturday Afternoon 1st June
The cinema is in the Memorial Hall at Limehead. Doors open 1.30pm, film starts at 2pm.  Annual Membership £2, Admission Donations, Members £4 Visitors £5 under 16’s £4

Following the film, tea and cake are served in the Reading Room.

Everyone welcome to join our next walk on Sunday 12th May, meet at 2pm at Wenford Bridge Pottery PL30 3PN.  Park in the private carpark by the bridge, (not in the public Camel Trail carpark).Our walk on the footpath will take us ti Bolts Quarry at Penvorder where we can stroll through the gardens and purchase tea and cakes, returning by the same route,  A mile each way, so a short walk this time.

The June walk will be on Sunday 9th June – led by Matt and Lindsay, details to be confirmed  nearer the time.

Everyone welcome to Michaelstow Church, a hidden gem, a Grade 1 listed 12th century church, with a Holy Well (possibly of Anglo Saxon origin) and with medieval bench ends inside. Come and explore the church (full wheelchair access), enjoy all day refreshments, have a try at ringing the bells (not the usual ones!) and for the children there is a special Children’s Discovery Trail – and meet our new Rector, the Reverend Robin Thwaites
