Play & Stay Group Christmas Coffee Morning – Wednesday 14 December                                              Everyone welcome to a Coffee, Cake and Raffle event at the new Stay & Play Group at the Village Hall 11.30 – 1pm.  The first Raffle prize is £100 hamper donated by East Rose Holiday Cottages                                                                                                  All donations and proceeds from the event will go towards running costs of the new Stay and Play group.

Community Café in December                                            The Community Cafe in the Memorial Hall at Limehead will be open on Mondays 5th and 19th December, 2-4.30pm.
The Café on Monday 19th December will be a festive afternoon with a prize for everyone in the free raffle and they will be serving Sherry and Port!!

Community Bus Timetable and Bus Survey

The Community Bus Association are currently reviewing the services offered by the Community Bus and would love to know your views.

They would be grateful if you could please spare 3-4 minutes of your time to complete the short survey so they can get an understanding of your wishes and any ideas you might have around the way the Bus is utilised.

You don’t have to be a Bus user to complete this,  they would also like to hear from people that DON’T use the bus, to gain some insight into reasons for not using it.

Should you know someone without Internet Access who might wish to complete the Survey, please let them know copies will be available in paper form from St Breward Stores.

Moorland Community Cinema Saturday 19th November

The film at the Moorland Community Cinema this Saturday 19th November, will be Jeff Wayne’s Musical Stage Version of War of the Worlds filmed at the O2 in 2012 – Think live streaming comes to St Breward

Entrance Donations – Members £4, Visitors and under 16’s £4.  Doors open at 1.30pm, film starts at 2pm. Following the film tea and cakes are served

St Breward Carnival is under Threat

St Breward Carnival has a proud tradition, dating back to at least 1913, of holding a village carnival which is the highest carnival in Cornwall.  This however may not happen unless new people step up to ensure its continuation in 2023

A number of long-standing Carnival Committee members are leaving this year and they desperately need more people to join

So, if you want to see this traditional event continue, please attend the Annual General meeting on Tuesday 22nd November at 7pm in the Memorial Hall

The November Meeting of St Breward Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 8th November in the Institute & War Memorial Hall (Memorial Hall) Limehead PL30 4LU, commencing at 7pm
Members of the public are welcome to attend. Prior to the start of the meeting there will be an opportunity for members of the public to discuss with Parish Councillors any items that feature on the agenda.

Community Bus Survey & Nov-Dec Timetable

The Community Bus Association are currently reviewing the services offered by the Community Bus and would love to know your views.

Sat 15th October – Congregation of Ghosts (2009) A locally made film starring Edward Woodward about a Vicar of Warleggan in the 1930’s – and has absolutely nothing to do with Ghosts!
Sat  5th November The Way We Were ( 1973) Starring Barbra Striesand and Robert Redford – Hankies at the ready
Sat 19th November – War of the Worlds (2012) filmed at the 02  -Think live streaming comes to St Breward!!

Doors Open 1.30pm for a 2pm start  Admissions Donations – Members £4 Visitors £5. Following the film tea and cake are served!

Sat 3rd December Downton AbbeyA new era (2021)  A feel good film to start off the Christmas events.

A buffet lunch will be served prior to the film starting at 2pm and seats must be booked for this event

St Breward Silver Band in Concert

The Band will be playing at a  Last Night of the Proms Concert at Wadebridge Town Hall on Saturday 22nd October (postponed from September)

‘The Concert is being organised by Bodmin Hospital League of friends to raise funds to purchase equipment and services not supplied by the NHS’

Tickets £12 each, are available from Bodmin – Martin & Budge, Mid Cornwall Brokers and Stan Mays and Wadebridge – Bricknells, Book Shop, Wadebridge Wines
Tickets purchased for the postponed Concert will be honoured

On Monday 26th September there is a short service in the Parish Church at 6.30 pm followed by a pasty supper and auction of harvest goods in the Village Hall.  All proceeds go to charity. If you have any produce to be sold, please bring up to the Church
