Rememberance Commemorations 2018 – St Breward’s Poppy Wave

What London had, St Breward can Attempt ……………..

As part of the Remembrance Day commemorations in the Church I am building a Poppy Wave similar to those in London and Plymouth.

I would like to invite the community of St Breward to get involved by knitting, crocheting, sewing or making by any other craft, poppies to be part of this Wave. These can be in memory of family members or just as a token of respect for the fallen, or even just the challenge of producing something.  I have a crochet and knitting pattern for anyone who would like to participate, or you are welcome to work to your own design.

This project is going to take an awful lot of red wool! plus cut out card, crepe paper, or fabric poppies.  Grateful for any donations of these items that can then be used to make the poppies.

Please phone me or bring them along to the Memorial Hall when the Community Cafe is open on the first and third Monday of the month 2-4.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along to the Cafe and work at making poppies

In order to give enough time to assemble the ‘Poppy Wave’, all the poppies need to be made by the end of October
